Mallory & Ryan’s wedding was the perfect blend. The day was modern yet classic, and rustic yet sophisticated. The details were well thought out; a bracelet from the bride’s grandmother, to the custom beer mugs for the groomsmen. To top it off, the two are so in love and the ceremony was so sweet, that I don’t think there was one dry eye in the house. Enjoy your peek into these special moments. <3

Lori and Chris are a sweet, sweet couple. They are the adventurous type, living on a sailboat and traveling the seas. It was very fitting that when they exchanged vows, they paddled out on a surfboard and were married by a good friend. They held their own personal celebration of their love here in Big Sur, CA. They rented a romantic cabin at Glen Oaks, where we began our session and then moved on to Pfeiffer Beach. We battled the wind, but still ended up with some awesome images. Lori is a photographer herself, and it is always such a fun experience to photograph another photographer! Congratulations Lori & Chris! You are a beautiful couple :).

Spending time in Carmel Valley in the afternoon sun is one of the best ways to hang out with family! This session at Garland Ranch was perfect. We walked down the sun speckled pathways, to the barn, and bubbles were blown. Enjoy!

Jessica and Steve’s Big Sur Wedding at The Jewel In The Forest was everything but ordinary. They planned the whole wedding themselves, and put their personality into every detail.
The love from friends and family that surrounds these two is something very special. The bride’s mom made the bouquets, boutonnieres, and floral arrangements. The couple’s good friends made the cake and all the baked goods. The cake topper was also made by a friend, Gaby Roth, a whimsical piece made to look like the bride and groom. All handmade with love!
From the bride: “The best part about the wedding was that we made people from the city and the prairie midwest get lost in the epic forest that is Big Sur and surrender their internet, reception, and outside world for the weekend. We had one big camping weekend with the people that have watched our love evolve. We took everyone on a long hike through the forest to experience our favorite feeling, being in solitude together. On all of our roadtrips to Big Sur we would always listen to Iron and Wine, so naturally I walked down the aisle to “Flightless Bird, American Mouth”. Since we are both scientists, our vows were quoted from the great Carl Sagan. Our officiant was my brother, who dropped in some great “chemistry” jokes.”
The most unique detail of the day was their “book”. The bride wrote their love story disguised as a children’s bedtime story and had it illustrated by their talented friend, Nicole Ellsworth. She read it to the guests at the reception, and it was just about the most adorable thing ever.
Enjoy the photographs.

Rachel and Johnny are good, honest, down-to-earth people. Their love is true, their relationship is genuine, and it shows through in their photos. The rustic setting at Garland Ranch in Carmel Valley, Ca, was the perfect backdrop for them. And it is where he proposed! Their wedding is next month, and I can’t wait to photograph it!

A stunning couple in a gorgeous location… what more can I say?? Jenna and Jeff were fantastic on this shoot. They were great sports as we traipsed through the trails of Point Lobos State Reserve.
Thank you for taking a look! Shoot me an email to book your session. I would love to hear from you.
Andrew and Whitney’s wedding took place atop a sand dune overlooking the breathtaking Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California. And let me tell you, I LOVED photographing this wedding. This couple is so in love, in the way that only best friends can be. They showed their personality in all the little details; from the handmade boutonnieres made by the bride (out of maps!) to the bridesmaids in their coordinating Toms. The intimate size of this wedding made for great memories, and each attendee was gifted a mexican falsa blanket to keep warm! I hope you enjoy these photos from a very special day.
