When walking up to The Nicklaus Club, you get a feeling like you’ve stepped into old world Europe. Nestled in the rolling hills of Monterey, California, this wedding venue is a photographer’s dream! The architecture, with it’s textures of wood and stone give a vintage feel, and the grandness makes it feel very luxurious.
I was incredibly lucky to work on this project with an amazing team of wedding vendors from all over. The talent is astounding! Now go enjoy feasting your eyes on all this pretty.
Check out this amazing custom wood door! Decorated with florals by Twigs Floral Design, it’s the perfect backdrop for a simple ceremony in front of your best group of family and friends.
Two gowns, compliments of Epiphany Boutique in Carmel, California, dazzled in this setting. Look one started with a Pronovias gown, a Mermaid silhouette, in petit pois tulle with a beige underlay. A sweetheart neckline and sheer illusion tulle overlay embellished with lace and guipure appliqués.
The tablescape is the creation of Twigs Floral Design. She used a color palette of French blue and rose, with vintage brass pieces to accent the palette in gold. The centerpieces included blush pink garden roses and tulips with accents of blue tweedia to add pops of color against the lace. These floral accents helped create a romantic garden look to complement the venue’s rustic decor.
Vintage plates and a lace table runner from Forage Vintage Rental Co. added elegant accents to the handcrafted wood table. Vintage brass candlesticks and crystal goblets sprinkled the table with charm.
To add a layer of whimsy, baby bunnies visited our shoot! The owner of Epiphany Boutique happened to have five baby bunnies at home that we just couldn’t pass up. They hopped through the lawn and snuggled into our necks. They even enjoyed munching on some of the florals!
This dessert table makes me hungry! The simple buttercream frosted cake from Layers Sensational Cakes in Monterey, California, got all dressed up on a vintage cake stand with garden roses on top. Have a bite, then take a sip of Dom Pérignon from a vintage crystal champagne flute. Feel fancy yet?
This invitation suite is absolutely STUNNING, with handwritten calligraphy from Bespoke Strokes. Each letter flawless, individual works of art on their own. Look at that detail! Vintage stamps complimenting the color palette added the final touch.
The second bridal look featured a gown by Essense of Australia, featuring glamorous metallic silver lace swirls throughout the elegant designer lace over a lavish satin sheath bodice. A lightly fitted gown, that beautifully dips in the back to a mid V and zips with ease under sparkling crystal buttons.
The bouquet was a beautiful mix of lush classic garden floral, fashioned of white garden roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, with added greenery for texture. The bouquet also featured a brooch of beautiful diamond and aquamarine Art Deco design. Just another finishing touch to bring romance!
Beautiful gowns demand beautiful jewelry, and nothing was more beautiful than the Art Deco inspired ring, provided by Fourtané of Carmel. This breathtaking ring features a four carat solitaire nested in a highly stylized four prong mounting. Fashioned with a scalloped border of crescent moons and a hand-pierced under gallery. Diamonds have been incorporated into every crevice!
And we just couldn’t resist doing some bridal portraits in front of this vintage stone fireplace! Accented with a wreath and a few candlesticks, it was too gorgeous to pass up. Doesn’t Mikayla look amazing?!
